Dominance of BT in mobile following acquisition of EE could ‘unbalance’ market, claim rivals

 

Three and TalkTalk have urged the telecoms regulator Ofcom to cap the amount of spectrum any one consolidated mobile operator can own ahead of the 2017 mobile auction.

In an open letter to Ofcom CEO Sharon White, which was signed by TalkTalk, Three, CityFibre, Relish and the Federation of Communication Services, the companies argued that the regulator must ensure that any one player – mainly BT but also Vodafone – cannot purchase an unfair market advantage.
